Dam Proud Day - current standings

Beaver Wrestling Supporters,

We are now at $26,463 raised with 178 gifts.  Wow!!  The day started with a locker room tour and ended with thanks from Coach P for reaching $20K and finally BK doing a backflip.

From earlier today:
It is a stretch, but if we can raise $75K, Coach P has promised to shave his head:

Wrestling is currently #3 on the leaderboard for total dollars raised behind Men's Rowing and Women's Basketball.

Keep that momentum going! Donations that count for Dam Proud Day are being collected through Friday.  You can donate or review the new totals by clicking on the orange button below.  Thanks again for all of the support.

Go Beavs!

Dam Proud Day - results so far

Beaver Wrestling Supporters,

Thank you for the tremendous support shown!!  So far, we have raised $14,868 for Wrestling with 67 gifts which includes a $5K match gift generously donated by Bob and Denise Tomasovic.  In comparison, 2020’s Dam Proud Day resulted in $2275 for Wrestling with 25 donors.  We crushed that and the day is still early.  The stretch goal is $20K!

All of the Wrestling staff have donated as well as most of the volunteer board.  Donations counted toward the Dam Proud Day total will be accepted through Friday 4/29 at 11:59pm.

Changes to The Fall Fan Club

Beaver Wrestling Supporters,

Over the past six months, the coaching staff, Athletic Dept and volunteers from The Fall and the Wrestling Endowment Fund have worked on revamping The Fall.  The plan is to bring these efforts to one streamlined organization.

With combined leadership and representation from the Wrestling Endowment Fund board and what was previously The Fall, we hope that our lines of communication, marketing and fundraising will increase efficiencies and results.  Bob Tomasovic and I are co-chairing the first term of this new committee which has 2 segments.  Brandon Perkins is tracking the Wrestling Endowment Fund contributions, market growth, distributions, etc while Craig Scharer is heading up the Engagement responsibilities (planning socials and hosting events).  Other valued members of our committee include John Kowalewski, Scott Lewis, Jim Hamer, Larry Bielenberg, Bob Hawkins, Paul Benzel.  And we are always looking for more people to join us.

The new entity we're inviting everyone to join is The Takedown Team, alumni and friends of Oregon State Wrestling.  If you were thinking of donating $100 for Dam Proud Day, that covers membership and entrance to the socials for the 2021-22 season.

We are currently at 6 gifts and $3305 which can be tracked by clicking the orange button below.  Please see below email in support of Dam Proud Day from alums Curt Willener & Ron Sather.

Hello Wrestling Alumni,

Thinking back to our days in Corvallis, we cannot help but wonder how the events of the last year would have impacted our experience. We have an immense sense of pride when we think about how current wrestling student-athletes have navigated the last year, both in competition and the classroom.

By now you may have heard from Coach Pendleton about Dam Proud Day, a day celebrating OSU.  While we root for the Beavers all year long, Dam Proud Day is a special opportunity to let them know that we are here for them, like alumni were there for us.

Your donation on April 28 to wrestling will be used for additional upgrades to our practice space, including a new scoreboard and speakers. Recently, Coach Pendleton purchased new mats for this practice facility and know that these additional upgrades will make an impact on our sport.

On Dam Proud Day 2019, 325 student-athlete alumni donated to support their former program. Let’s work together to increase the participation from alumni this year! You can make your gift directly to the program by clicking the link below.

As wrestling student-athlete alumni, we hope you will join us on April 28 to show you are Dam Proud to be a Beaver!

Go Beavs!

Let's show we are Dam Proud of OSU Wrestling

Beaver Wrestling Supporters,

I hope that most or all of you received the following email last week from Coach P inviting everyone to support the Wrestling Program at Oregon State by contributing on Dam Proud Day.  What is Dam Proud Day?  On Wed 4/28 various programs (athletic, scholastic, etc) will be focused on both participation of giving and dollars raised, ear-marked for the specific team or dept.

Please see the attached PDF which has additional info about Dam Proud Day.

Some highlights:
-The wrestling coaches targeted fundraising for an ice machine (the atheletic trainer is currently hauling ice from the Valley Center), and a scoreboard and audio system for the practice room.
-A generous alumni and spouse have pledged to match $5K!!
-We are currently at 4 gifts received and $3100 before the match. Thank you!  Everyone can follow the stats by clicking on the orange button below.
-Coach Mike Kosoy has promised he'll be leading some fun things over social media on 4/28.  Stay tuned for more details!

The second annual Dam Proud Day is April 28!

Greetings OSU Wrestling Family & Friends,

The last year has been one of change and uncertainty, but the one thing that has been constant is our pride in Beaver Nation! In my first year at OSU, I am especially proud of the way our program has performed in competition and in the classroom:

Improved our team’s GPA from 2.84 in winter term 2020 to posting a 3.24 GPA in winter 2021

Ended our 2021 season in second place in the Pac-12, a jump from a fifth-place finish in 2019

Qualified six wrestlers for NCAA Championships

Our student-athletes continually showcase the fact that success is not achieved alone. On April 28 Beaver Nation will come together in celebration of our university for the second annual Dam Proud Day! Save the date and join the OSU community across the globe in showing your Beaver pride.

By supporting wrestling on Dam Proud Day, your dollars will go directly to the development of our student-athletes to continue their success at OSU. For wrestling, those dollars will be applied towards a new scoreboard and speakers for the wrestling room. Recently, we purchased new mats for the practice facility and want to continue to make impactful upgrades.

Join us April 28 and make your gift to wrestling by clicking the button below.

We compete at an elite level and thanks to you we can prepare for victory in the same way.

Go Beavs!
