Local Youth Wins National Cadet Championship

Oregon State Wrestling Fans,

Chance Lamer, one of Chad Lamer's - former Volunteer Coach for the Beavers a few years back - sons, is finding success at the Cadet level of Freestyle wrestling. He recently won the Cadet National Freestyle World Team Trials at 45 kg. You can see a video of an interview with Chance on YouTube. Congratulations, Chance!

Chance now has an opportunity to participate in the Cadet World Championships this summer. The following message is from David Williams, FALL Club member and Corvallis middle school wrestling coach.

Just recently, Chance Lamer won the Cadet World Team Trials! This means he has the opportunity to represent our country in Croatia next month. USA wrestling is asking the wrestlers to share the cost of travel expenses. Chance's Orange Crush coach, Jason Lara, has set up a go-fund-me account to help the Lamer family raise funds.  This is the link to the go fund me site: https://www.gofundme.com/get-chance-to-world-championships.

On other news, I recently posted some photographs taken by Ron Iwasaki, FALL Club member, at a Day of Service project undertaken by the IOC - a group of Oregon State Wrestling Alumni. You can find those photographs at "The FALL" Club's blogsite.

Go Beavs!
