Joe Wells Classic This Sunday

Before getting to the Meet this weekend, one look back to the Mike Clock Open Tournament last week.

Anousa Sengsavanh, father of OSU wrestler Amari Sengsavanh, shared a link to photos he took at the Mike Clock. Parents, take note. This is one of the times many of the guys on the squad get to wrestle. Anousa has some nice shots here. It's also a good way to get to know the faces on the squad. It's a real test since they are "unattached" and not wearing Black and Orange! Thanks for sharing, Anousa!

This Sunday, Michigan comes to Gill Coliseum for Oregon State's home opener in the second annual Joe Wells Classic. Joe was the Head Coach at Oregon State from 1992-2006, previously he was an Assistant Coach at Michigan. Joe died last year following an intense battle with cancer. The Classic was formed in his honor. Cindia Wells sends her greetings, but will not be able to attend. She is currently working in Michigan.

Wrestling begins at noon. Neither team has their regular line-up. Read the articles at Oregon State and Michigan to scout the situation.

"The FALL" Fan Club will be hosting a Social following the meet, on the Club level of Reser Stadium. Snacks will be served and a short program will follow, including some door prizes and Silent Auction items. Door prize tickets and the auction items help defray the cost of the Social. Donations of Auction items or door prizes are always welcome!

One bit of business for the Social will be to gauge interest in a fan bus to the Pac-12's at Stanford in February. We will have a sign-up sheet at the Social. We have to get this done now as this is the only home meet (and Social) until January 30!

FALL members, don't forget to bring your ID badge for free entry to the Social. Lanyards will be distributed at entry to the Social. Lapel pins will be distributed in January - they are still in the production process at this time.

FALL Board members will be out in the lobby of Gill until about 11:50 am. If you have not yet joined, you may sign up there, or at the entrance to the Social. You can also use the online portal at any time.

Michigan is ranked #11. The Beavers can use a large, noisy crowd for support. Hope to see many of Joe's wrestling alumni in the stands cheering on the current Beavers!

Go Beavs!
