Beavers Snare Golden Bears 21-12!

Oregon State Wrestling Fans, 
133-Turner vs Schwartz

A scrappy, energetic Beaver team defeated the Northern Colorado Golden Bears 21-12, entertaining a crowd of 887 mostly Beaver fans. The meet was close all the way, coming down to the heavyweights with the score OSU 18 and UNC 12. The fans were kept on the edge of their seat to the end, when Jamarcus Grant put the finishing touch on an Overtime Double-tiebreaker match, bringing the score to 21 to 12 for the Beavers!
184 - Doyle vs Clothier

Oregon State took seven of the ten matches, including upsets of three of Northern Colorado's ranked wrestlers. Way to go, guys! Congratulations to the match winners:
125 Brandon Kaylor, 133 Devan Turner, 141 Grant Willits, 165 Aaron Olmos, 184 Colt Doyle, 197 JJ Dixon and Hwt Jamarcus Grant! Turner, Olmos and Doyle pulled the upsets.

A couple of notes -

The new FALL Board distributed membership materials in the lobby before the meet. They were assisted by the OSU Baseball Head Coach Mitch Canham who described himself as a rabid wrestling fan and good friend of Board member Jess Lewis. Happy to have you on-board Mitch!

FALL members were treated to a Social following the victory. There were snacks, an interview with Brandon Kaylor and JJ Dixon, a team update by Head Coach Jim Zalesky and a couple of rounds of doorprizes.

Next up for the Beavers - a week of studies and practice followed by a road trip to ASU for a dual next Friday, January 17.
