North Dakota State Dual V

Hwt - Amar Dhesi
One match to go, it's all up to the heavyweights. What would happen? With the score at 14-19, a simple decision would not be enough.

A major decision, 4 points, would not do the trick. A 5 point technical fall - a tech fall without back points would only be 4 points - would tie the score, but since NDSU had a pin, that would probably have given them the match. A tied score send the officials to the rule books to decide the match by set criteria. So the work of the heavy weights was for Oregon State to get the fall, for North Dakota, it would be to not get pinned - at the very least!

OSU's Amar Dhesi worked at his task, adding more points each period.  Evan Knutson of NDSU proved too wily, and the match ended with Dhesi the victor by a score of 10-4. Final score, OSU 17 NDSU 19.
