The hot part of the summer has arrived, and the calendar pages are turning. A few more and the fall season will be coming closer to view. "The FALL" Fan Club wants to keep you up to date on the world of Oregon State Wrestling!
We have a couple of updates to pass along - one on Colby Covington's post-Beaver-wrestling career and a new one from the Coaching Staff.

Wrestling fans-
Summer is in full swing at Oregon State and we are very busy. The new guys are on campus helping with camps and working out, and preparing for the upcoming season. Pretty much the entire roster is in Corvallis!
It has been a busy last week or so! We hosted The Northwest Duals Team Competition from June 29- July 2nd. We hosted wrestlers from five states and has an excellent turnout with some great competition. All the kids got a lot of matches and had a great time. We certainly appreciate all the support from the athletes, parents and coaches that drive this event!
On July 3rd, we held our annual Dale Thomas Golf Outing at Corvallis Country Club. It is always great to catch up with everyone and meet some new people too. We had a good turnout of some of our alumni, had a lot of fun and raised some money. All in all it was a great event as always. We would like to thank all the golfers, sponsors, donors and businesses that helped us out with auction items! Without all of these people, we could not pull this event off. MANY THANKS from us!
We are now in camp season for the next week plus. Lots of teaching and workouts! Everybody is doing a great job right now.
Recruiting is in full swing as well. We are busy evaluating, talking and visiting with kids. Some of them will be future OSU Beavs. July is always a busy time for the coaches and is definitely keeping us busy.
Big congrats to Oregon State alumni and All American Colby Covington who won his most recent UFC fight! He continues to move up the ladder in the world rankings and is making a name for himself.
Congrats to Joey Palmer, who recently graduated and completed his student teaching! He is now a licensed teacher! He is excited to get going in educating youngsters and plans to keep training and competing in freestyle this coming year. He will be staying in Corvallis and continue to train. Joey worked hard in school and we are excited for him to be able to give back to the youngsters. He will be an excellent teacher and coach.
The 2017-2018 competition schedule is pretty much set. We just need to get contracts signed and we are waiting on some times to be finalized. We have a good schedule set up, with some solid opponents and good tournaments on the slate. Watch out for season ticket renewals coming soon!
