Oregon State Wrestling Fans,
Just a quick note to keep everyone up to speed on the latest news that has come across my desk lately.
First, in early June, the Oregon State Wrestling Alumni lost another of their number, as Jerry Perez passed away. For long time Beaver fans, this is the note that Len Kauffman sent with the news:
As many of you know by now, Jerry Perez
passed away form a major heart attack Friday, June 8th. Jerry was a
three-time Pacific Coast Champion (at 115 and 123). He graduated from
OSU in 1962, a year that the Beavers dominated the
Pacific Coast tournament with six individual champions. He was a long
time wrestling official in Oregon and Washington and worked in the
mental health industry in the Seattle area for all of his working
career.
If you wish to send a card or letter to his wife, Sue, the address is:
Len
Thank you for sharing that, Len. Our sympathies to Jerrry's family.
Next up, for you MMA/UFC/Colby Covington fans, Colby has been finding quite a bit of success recently. Thanks to Michael Denison for sending this note:
Colby Covington won again. Is now 14-1 and the new interim welterweight champion
Congratulations, Colby!!
One last item, brought to my attention by Craig Scharer - the NCAA's have come up with a new rule for transfers. You can find that article at intermat.
Thanks to all who brought those bits of news to my attention!
Don't forget the Coaches' note below. Go Beavs!

Below
is an awesome Beaver Fan picture of Jim Hamer, Craig Scharer, Mike
Denison and the late Dennis Fuller at the Grand Canyon two years ago.
These four made the trip out to watch the Beavers wrestle at the Las
Vegas Cliff Keen Invitational tournament! If you have great Beaver Fan
pictures, please send them in!
