Only one more week until your reservation
form is due for the '2016 Wrestling Awards Banquet' sponsored by "The
FALL". The Banquet will be held in The Club at Reser (third floor) on May 8, Sunday. Social hour 3:00-4:00, dinner at 4:00, followed by Awards program. Reservations are due by April 29, next Friday.
We realize that May 8 is Mother's Day, but schedules would not allow any other day. So if you do not already have other plans, please join us to celebrate this group of young men and their coaches who brought home the fifth Pac-12 Team trophy in a row!
The three graduating seniors will be honored at the Banquet: Seth Thomas, Jared Reis and Jay Tovey. And don't forget Amar Dhesi, our All-American for this year!
If you have not already done so, you may download and print the reservation form now. If you need a reminder of one of the Silent Auction items, don't forget that great piece by John Kowalewski!
Now, some sad news shared by Coach Kevin Roberts:
With sadness, I wanted to pass along the news that
Roger Weigel, 1971 NCAA Champion for Oregon State
passed away peacefully last night, April 21, 2016. Roger finished 3
rd
for Oregon State at 126 lbs. in 1970, and was NCAA Champion for The
Beavs in 1971 at 134 lbs. Roger was a loyal Beav alumni, having attended
this years’ Pac 12 and NCAA Championships. Roger was a great supporter
of the program and will be missed. We want to send our condolences to
all of Roger’s family, friends and former teammates during this time.
Memorial service information will be passed along soon.

Roger was a member of "The FALL". May he rest in Peace. Roger was also one of the Pac-12 Team of the Century, honored at this year's Pac-12's. Roger is in the front row of the official photo, third from the right hand side. The story from Oregon State can be read here.
Another former Beaver wrestler in the news: Denys Overholser. Thanks to Ron Iwasaki for sending that story along!
Cal Poly is not the only Pac-12 school looking for a head coach. Boise State is also looking!
In the meantime, their interim head coach is none other than Oregon
State's Taylor Meeks! Thanks to Craig Scharer and John Dustin for
sending me this story!
Hope to see many of you at the Banquet in May!
Go Beavs!
