Oregon State Wrestling Fans,
In
my last email, the question of who won the Dhesi/Jarvis was mentioned.
The latest email from the coaches answered that question - Amar Dhesi will represent Canada on their freestyle team for the World Championships.
Congratulations,
Amar! From what I have heard, Jarvis was a "no-show", so Dhesi takes
over the role. You can read more details in the Coaches' Update, which
follows below my signature.
Be sure to read the Coaches' Update if you have not done so - lots of other good information in there. The Update includes the tentative schedule for the upcoming season, the Pledge for Pins and an invitation to the new event - the Orange Crush Benefit Dinner and Auction, which will be held Oct 13 at the Benton County Fairgrounds.
Ron Iwasaki & Mark Hirota |
Another item about former Beaver wrestlers - a photo of 1981 Pac-10 Champ for the Beavs, Mark Hirota, sent in by Ron Iwasaki. Ron introduced Mark with this statement: "A judo instructor in Portland - Black Belt 6th Degree. 🥋 don’t mess w/Mark!" Thanks for sharing, Ron!
Meanwhile,
some of the recruits are already on campus, getting adjusted to college
life. School starts in a few weeks. the first of the Open Practices is
expected to be Oct 6. Wrestling Season is coming!
Please
consider if you would like to donate some of your time to support
Oregon State Wrestling by being a FALL Board member. Several current
members have announced their retirement at the end of this season. The
FALL Club needs you!!
Go Beavs!
