Beaver Wrestling Supporters,
It
is a somber time for our country; however, there is hope for equality
and justice as we witness/participate in the largest civil rights
movement in world history.
Please see below a heartfelt update from Coach P. Welcome, Mike Kosoy!

Hello Beaver Nation!
Just
wanted to give everyone a few updates on the program, even though it
has only been a couple months as the leader of Oregon State Wrestling it
feels like I’ve been here for years.
One
of the most important parts of building a sustainable team culture was
surrounding the student-athletes with coaches that hold the same beliefs
and values as I do. It was a long process, and with the hiring of Mike Kosoy as our new
heavyweight coach I can proudly say that I feel like I’ve checked all
of the boxes that I wanted for my staff! I can’t wait for the community
to meet these men.
I
wanted to share with everyone my thoughts and updates from the team
about what’s going on in the world right now. The protests, riots, and
separation that’s happening in the world is truly heartbreaking.
One
of my messages to the team is that I don’t just value them for what
they do on the wrestling mat. I want them to grow and be outstanding
human beings. We’ve had many discussions as a team about having a
culture of understanding and inclusion.
This past week we’ve had multiple wrestlers participate in peaceful
protests in Eugene and Corvallis, and I couldn’t be prouder of them.
They are being true men of impact by trying to make the world a better
place. Our very own Adam Rateb was on the front
page of multiple newspapers taking a stand against Racism.
Thank
you all again for your support. The world is changing every day, and
the people in our program are working hard to make the people who
support us proud!
Stay Safe
