$30,513 Raised for OSU Wrestling

 Beaver Wrestling Supporters,

We ended Dam Proud Day at $30,513 raised from 213 gifts. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!  It was great to see many familiar names, but also names of donors who are new to the Beaver Wrestling program.  The coaches reached out to their networks and the current wrestlers participated with donations and shared their enthusiasm in videos showcased throughout the 3 days.  I'll give a shout out to the Bielenberg and Tomasovic grandkids who may not have even known that their grandpas were competitively donating on their behalf.

For posterity, here are the results listing individual donations:

Wrestling maintained 3rd place behind Men’s Rowing and Women’s Basketball for dollars raised and in 3rd behind Spirit and Men’s Rowing for number of gifts.

Update dated 4/28/21 from Keep Stanford Wrestling Facebook group:

#ReinstateThe11 Recap

The Stanford Board of Trustees held a closed-door meeting this past Monday (4/26) to discuss the now nearly 10-month old decision to discontinue 11 varsity sports programs. In response--and working with less than 24 hours’ notice--36 Sports Strong (36 SS) helped organize and execute a successful #ReinstateThe11 rally with hundreds of people in attendance. The
San Francisco Chronicle covered the event with local news stations providing video reports (below).

Since the meeting, we've received numerous inquiries about the outcome. Unfortunately, Stanford hasn't provided any information about the discussion around whether or not to reinstate sports. The university's official statement indicated that, "The final decision will be rendered by the president and provost in the coming weeks." Frankly, we believe this timeline is unacceptable, which is why we feel it is more important than ever to let Stanford know that we are waiting and watching this decision.

Please visit
KeepStanfordWrestling.com and click “Send Email” on the right-hand side of the page. This will auto-populate an updated email template to the Stanford University leadership. Please complete this task even if you have sent emails to this group previously. If you haven’t already, please also sign the 36 SS petition here. While the entire process should take less than five minutes, it will be extremely helpful to the reinstatement effort.

Have a great week!

Go Beavs!
