Congrats to the team and staff on their 2^nd place team finish and individual champions Devan Turner and Grant Willits!  It was a different experience watching a tournament virtually and the color commentary by Adeline Gray, Trevor Rasmussen and Brandon Perkins greatly improved the home viewing experience.

133 Devan Turner 1^st over Chance Rich of CSUB, 3-1

141 Grant Willits 1^st with a pin in 2^nd period of the championship match

The Beaver NCAA qualifiers so far are Devan Turner, Grant Willits, Hunter Willits and JJ Dixon.  The NCAA Selection Show will be on Wed Mar 10 when the wildcards will be announced.  Craig Scharer is predicting that Brandon Kaylor and Ryan Reyes may get these invites.  The NCAA brackets will be released on Wed Mar 11 at 3pm Pacific.

I have not been able to get team scores at this point, but we have done well. we have a legitimate to 2nd or 3rd place

Our team has AGAIN showed great progression. Not just the stars, but the 3 in the consolation finals Never quit! and showed great effort against highly favored opponents so far.

Reminder that it starts at 11:30am and will be dual live streamed on osubeavers.com.  The streams will also be available on the Pac-12 Now app.  Championship rounds start at 6pm and will be shown live on the Pac-12 Network, Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app.

My husband Brett and I were in Coeur d’Alene this week and met up with Beaver Wrestling alum Brian Engdahl ’15.  After earning double majors in Fermentation Science and Business Innovation Management, Brian's put those brain cells to use with creating Chalice Brewing, his business that he’s about to open.  We had a behind-the-scenes tour of his location in downtown CDA.  It was fantastic to catch up with Brian and his dad Eric, who was in town visiting.  Chalice Brewing will be soft opening with a walkup window in a few weeks.  The address is 413 E Sherman Ave, incredible location downtown and very close to the lake.  I’ll be sending more updates soon!

 

What an abbreviated season it has been -- we are so proud of the guys for persevering.  Best wishes to the team as they compete to punch their tickets for St Louis!
