The quarantine for Devan Turner, Brandon Kaylor and JJ Dixon ended Thursday, Feb 25, so they only had a few days to practice before the tournament. They practiced at home in their tiny apartment! Coach Nate led virtual workouts.  The team missed them as workout partners for the 2 weeks....

Devan had a challenging season on/off the mat.  He shared that just before the tournament, his mom had surgery and the day of the tournament, his dad had a stroke.  Coach P said his story is not finished yet and he will be returning next season.

Grant was used to the fans being there and celebrating with him, but his team stepped up instead.  Coach P said it was his aggressive wrestling, not just conditioning that resulted in the win.

Lane Stigall doesn't complain, great energy and finished better than his designated seed.

Matthew Olguin did not get to join the team until January as he transferred from Fresno State and was still in California before that.  

Colton Beasley is a 4.0 student who never missed a practice that Coach P could remember.  He is starting a job this month, so he will be moving on.

Limited fans will be allowed at the NCAAs

Coach P said this team is very coachable.  He spoke about having to kick kids out of the practice room because it was their day off and their bodies need to recover.

Coach P expressed thanks to all that have supported the team during this unique and challenging season.  He mentioned The FALL and is looking forward to meeting everyone next season when allowed

He also gave a plug for Dam Proud Day, a fundraiser for all OSU sports teams.  This is on 4/28. Stay tuned for more announcements and info.
