David Henry added another Open Championship to his collection today, taking first place at heavyweight at the Clackamas Open! Congratulations, Dave!!

Congratulations also go to Alex Rich - 141 - and Collbran Meeker - 165 - who both took third in their weight class at Clackamas.

While most of the Beavs in this tournament had a fall or two to their credit, Alex Rich had the fastest. He had two falls, the first at 35 seconds, the second at 21 seconds. Way to go, Alex!

One note, both Kurt Mode, 141, and Colt Doyle, 174, of Clackamas have signed letters of intent to wrestle at OSU next year. Both were champions here today.

The last Open Tournament of the season for folk style wrestling is coming up this next weekend, Saturday, Jan. 28. The California Collegiate Open takes place in "The Swamp", the gymnasium at San Fransisco State. There is a link to live video on the SF State Schedule page. Last year it did not work too well. Maybe this time it will be better.

Last, Board members Craig Scharer and Michael Denison have put together a flier with details for hotels for the NCAA's in St Louis. If you want to stay with other Beaver fans, get those rooms reserved now. Blocks of rooms have been reserved, but after the deadline, they will be released and no longer available. Deadline for the Hampton is Feb 15, and the Avyan is Feb 28.
