Wrestling At North Colorado & Other News

Oregon State Wrestling Fans,

Happy New Year! After a short break for New Year and a restart of classes for winter term, the Beaver wrestlers are back on the road again, heading to Northern Colorado for a 7 pm Mountain Time meet this Friday, January 13, with the Golden Bears.

If you can't be in Greeley, Colorado for the meet on Friday, we have the next best thing - a video link to live action. Remember, 7 pm start time is Mountain, Pacific Time will be 6:00 pm. In case you lose the link, you can find it on the schedule page for Northern Colorado.

Three of the Beavers continue to hold their rankings, Joey Delgado, Corey Griego and Cody Crawford. To catch up on the rankings and other thoughts from OSU, read the latest article at osubeavers.com.

To scout the Golden Bears, you can read about their last two meets in this article from their news page.

Joey Palmer had been ranked at 141, but will be readjusting back to his old weight, 133, to take the place of Devan Turner whose injuries have taken him out for the rest of the season. Jack Hathaway will step back in to the line-up at 141 were he was last year.

It seems like forever since we've had any wrestling at home, but do not despair, it will be coming in a blast in a few more weeks! In a matter of fourteen days, OSU will have four home meets, so get ready!!

"The FALL" Fan Club will host Socials for its members after three of those meets. If you haven't already joined the Club, there is still time! Visit the FALL's on-line portal
https://squareup.com/store/the-fall-fanclub/ where you can sign up for membership, or buy merchandise to help support "The FALL" and Oregon State Wrestling.

For those loyal fans who have signed up already, the 2016-17 lapel pins have arrived! You may pick them up at any of the home meets either in the lobby of Gill before the meet, or at the Social following. All members receive a free lapel pin. This year, the pin recognizes the 5 year streak of Pac-12 Championships the Beavers have amassed.

Speaking of the Pac-12's, they are only about a month and a half away. If you have any interest in riding a fan bus to the Pac-12's from Corvallis, Please Let Me Know!! We need time to finish the planning if it is to happen. At this time, we need about 30 more people to make it a go. Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask.

One last bit of news shared with me by John Dustin, FALL Club member and former Beaver wrestler: there is going to be another Women's Wrestling team in the state of Oregon! Umpqua Community College is not only adding the women's team, but they are re-instating their men's team in the fall of 2017. Congratulations to UCC! You can read more in this article in the News Review. Thanks for sending that link, John!

Let's get ready for wrestling!!

Go Beavs!
