Jackrabbits Elude Beavers

Oregon State Wrestling Fans,

It may have been cold outside, but the wrestling was hot inside Frost arena tonight. The Beavers fought hard, but South Dakota, with 4 ranked wrestlers, had more firepower than the Beavers, closing out the meet 30-13.

 

Oregon State saw the return of two of their ranked wrestlers to the line-up which helped keep the score as close as it was. Ronnie Bresser's return filled the previously empty 125 weight class which Oregon State has had to forfeit in the the season's early duals. Ronnie not only filled the slot, he won by major, putting up 4 points on the scoreboard to start the dual.

The Beavers won 3 of the 10 matches, Bresser's victory at 125, Kurt Mode at 149 and the final match of the evening a fall by Amar Dhesi in his return to the line-up at heavyweight. Congratulations to all the match winners!

One other match almost went in the Beaver's column, the 157 bout between Hunter Willits and #11 Luke Zilverberg. Willits had led in the match but in the end it came down to OT and a one point victory for the ranked Jackrabbit. Keep pushing, Hunter!
