Update From Coaching Staff
Oregon State Wrestling Fans,
What you have been waiting for has finally arrived! This Sunday, January 14, the Beavers will be back on their home mat in Gill Coliseum for a dual with the Wyoming Cowboys. Wrestling begins at 7:00 pm. Be there to charge up the Beavers!!Scouting Wyoming
Following the Action
The
best way to catch all the action is to be there, cheering for the
Beavers from the stands. There's plenty of room for everyone in Gill!
The box office and doors open at 6:00.
If you can't make it, you have a couple of other options. The dual will be covered live by Pac-12 television. Not everyone can get Pac-12 tv, but you can still follow along with live stats provided by TrackWrestling.
Social After Meet
It
has been a while since we've had any home wrestling, so "The FALL"
Board wanted everyone to have a chance to get together after the meet
concludes. There will be a Social following the dual. Location will be Reser Stadium's Club Level, third floor.
FALL Club members who have received their badges in the mail, get in free by presenting your badge at the door. If you want/need a lanyard for your badge, just ask and you shall receive. Also be sure to ask for your 2017-18 edition lapel pin.
We did not mail the lanyards or pins. Their bulk adds considerable
time, effort and cost to mailing. It's much easier to hand them out when
you arrive. If you've signed up late and you haven't received your badge yet, just let us know and we'll get you in.
We will have a table out front in the lobby of Gill from about 6:15-6:50. When the meet wraps up we will relocate to the doorway of the Club at Reser.
As our custom, we will have door prizes and some snacks
for munching while you visit with your friends, waiting for the team
and coaches to arrive. Then there will be a short presentation for you.
Join "the FALL"
It's
not too late to join "The FALL" for the 2017-18 season. We are just
coming to the heart of the home duals with two this month and two in
February. You can easily sign up through the On-line Portal anytime, or sign up in person at our table either in Gill or in Reser.

Help Needed at Pac-12 Tables

Jan 10, 2018 Update from Coaches' Corner:
Beavers Recap:
After a long road trip, the Beavers are finally back in Corvallis.
During the first part of the trip, the Beavers competed in the 55th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships. The team fought hard and finished in 12th
place with 47 team points. Ronnie Bresser (125) had a great
performance, taking home second place. In his semifinal match, Bresser
beat two-time Jr. World Champion Spencer Lee (Iowa). He then lost a
close finals match to Nick Suriano (Rutgers), who is ranked second in
the country. Amar Dhesi (HWT) had a sixth-place finish.
Following
Midlands, the Beavers set out for Brookings, South Dakota. Despite snow
and temperatures as low as -20 degrees, the Beavers had a solid four
days of training leading up to the teams dual against South Dakota State
(#15). Bresser (125) came out hot against the Jackrabbits, picking up a
15-3 major decision. Kurt Mode (149) also picked up a win with a 10-7
decision. Dhesi (HWT) ended the night with a pin in 2:43. South Dakota State came away with a 30-13 victory.
With
one more dual meet, the Beavers hopped in the vans and drove to Ames,
Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones. The dual meet started at 197
pounds with Cory Griego winning the match by a 7-1 decision. The Beavers
kept rolling with Dhesi (HWT) winning with a 13-4 major decision.
Bresser received a forfeit at 125 pounds. The last Beaver to get a win
was Billy Bigelow (165) with a gritty 3-2 decision. The Cyclones
defeated the Beavers 24-16.
Coming up: The Beavers return to Gill Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 14, as they host Wyoming (#12) at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Jan. 20,
the Beavers are back on the road to take on Arizona State (ranked #9).
To wrap up the month, the Beavers will have a home dual meet on Jan. 28 against Northern Colorado at 3 p.m. For more information on dates and times, check out the link below for our official schedule.
