Good Morning from Oregon State Wrestling!
We hope this email finds you well! Oregon State Wrestling hits the road for their final trip to the East Coast this weekend for the Campbell Duals on Saturday, Jan. 25!
LAST WEEK RECAP
The Oregon State Wrestling team fell to No. 6 Arizona State, 26-12, behind a physical effort in Tempe. Ariz., on Friday night.
The Beavers notched four victories with three consecutive wins coming at 133, 141 and 149 pounds. No. 15 Devan Turner (133) improved to 18-7 on the year with a 5-4 decision in a tightly contested match over No. 17 Josh Kramer while Lane Stigall (149) also earned a ranked victory over No. 21 Josh Maruca.
Grant Willits battled at 141 pounds against Navonte Demison and came away with an 8-2 decision for his 14th win of the year. Willits' physical style translated to three takedowns, a lone escape and a bonus stalling point to put OSU up 6-3 in team points.
Colt Doyle notched an impressive victory in the next match, in which he improved to 4-1 in dual meets with a 9-3 decision over ASU's Austin Clayton. No. 32 Doyle earned over two minutes of riding time and capitalized on another physical matchup against the No. 6 Sun Devils.
