The Beavers won the first, the last and one in the middle. Match winners were Ronnie Bresser at 125, Seth Thomas at 165 and Amar Dhesi at 285. Congratulations to all!
Bresser's match was a nailbiter, winning 2-1 with
riding time. Joey Palmer and Jack Hathaway had very close matches.
Abraham Rodriguez kept scrambling, but could never quite get ahead.
Starting out after the television half time break, Seth Thomas
worked hard for the fall. It appeared that he had it, but apparently
the ref did not see it that way. Tyler Chay's match was close until the
third period.
At 184, Corey Griego faced ASU's highest ranked wrestler, #6 Blake
Stauffer. Corey scored the first takedown and kept it close, but
couldn't get the takedown at the end to force OT, losing 4-6.
At heavyweight, Amar Dhesi seemed determined to erase
his close loss to Tanner Hall at Midlands. Amar earned OSU's only bonus point this evening, winning
by major, 12-4. Way to go, Amar!!
The Beavers return home to Gill for a Sunday meet with University of Northern Colorado at 2:00 pm.
UNC defeated Boise State tonight 22-15. That meet was live-streamed,
but the connection was not good and hung up a lot. So if you are
counting on watching the meet between OSU and UNC by their live-stream,
it may not work well. (Hint - it would be much better to be there in
person!)
UNC is not ranked, but they have a good team, so we need another good,
loud crowd to cheer the Beavers on to victory on Sunday! Don't forget,
"The FALL" is sponsoring a Social in the Loge in Reser after the meet.
For more details on today's meet, check out the article at OSU's website. For the other view, ASU has this article.
Hope to see you all on Sunday in Gill!
Go Beavs!
