Five In a Row! Beavers Win Pac-12's!!

They did it!! I don't know how, because the information isn't out there yet, but the Beavers won the Pac-12's - the fifth year in a row!

For those of us at home, the live-streaming went out just after Seth Thomas's consolation round match began and didn't come back until it was almost over. The guys must have done a heck of a job fighting back in the Consolations, because OSU won with only one champion, Amarveer Dhesi, who won with bonus points to close out the show! Congratulations, Amar!!

Just before the finals began the announcers had said that OSU was leading by about ten points, but ASU was looking to close the gap. The television coverage did not mention most of the matches outside of the finals, so from here, it was hard to know what was happening.

If you weren't there or weren't watching the finals, this is a short version. Ronnie Bresser lost a Double Tie-Breaker overtime match by one second of riding time. Joey Palmer scored first, was the aggressor for the whole match, but ended up losing by takedown in Sudden Victory overtime. Corey Griego fought hard against a #1 seed senior and lost by a close decision, not bad. The conclusion came with Dhesi's match which left no doubt.

Ryan Haworth has put up a video recap of the finals on YouTube.

When Oregon State gets their article out, it should have the details. You will find the link at the archives page. The brackets have been updated, and are final.

Team scores:
OSU - 118.0
ASU - 113.0
CSUB - 101.0
Stanford - 100.0
BSU - 92.0
CPoly - 73.5

The Beavers had one first - Amar Dhesi
three 2nd place - Ronnie Bresser, Joey Palmer, Corey Griego
four 3rd place - Joey Delgado, Abraham Rodriquez, Seth Thomas, Cody Crawford,
one fifth place - Jack Hathaway
one sixth place - Tyler Chay

Beaver fans that traveled to Tempe are to be commended. They were mentioned by the announcers as being the most noticeable, large group who had traveled to the tournament. It was their orange attire  that made them stand out.

If you are there, don't forget to head over to Gordon Biersch for a celebration with the coaches and team from 8:30-10:30. Enjoy!

Next up will be to find out which Beavers get to go to NYC and Madison Square Garden for the NCAA's.

Once again, Congratulations to Amar Dhesi and the whole team and Coaching staff!!

Go Beavs!!
